About the position

As a Sr Advanced Application Engineer at Honeywell, you will play a critical role in providing advanced engineering support for various projects and initiatives. This position is pivotal in leading and managing a team of engineers, ensuring the successful execution of engineering support activities and the delivery of high-quality solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute project plans, ensuring that all engineering support requirements are met. Your work will primarily take place at our Northford, CT location, and you will have the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule. In this role, you will have a significant impact on the success of our engineering support operations. You will be responsible for managing a team of support specialists, providing guidance and support to resolve complex customer issues, and driving improvements in our support processes. Your leadership will be essential in fostering a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and efficiency. You will also be involved in ensuring adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements, which are critical to maintaining the integrity of our engineering solutions. Honeywell Building Automation (BA) is a leading global provider of products, software, solutions, and technologies that enable building owners and occupants to ensure their facilities are safe, energy efficient, sustainable, and productive. The products and services offered by BA include advanced software applications for building control and optimization, sensors, switches, control systems, and instruments for energy management, access control, video surveillance, fire products, and installation, maintenance, and upgrades of systems. This position will primarily focus on Honeywell Hospitality building controls, while also interacting with partner companies, system integrators, and hotel engineering teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of engineers to provide advanced engineering support for projects
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute project plans
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to the team in solving complex engineering problems
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance engineering processes and efficiency

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in advanced engineering support or related roles
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Hospitality Energy Management Systems
  • Understanding of basic electrical wiring diagrams
  • Software Application Engineering experience, including system integrations
  • Good understanding of HVAC controls including PTAC, FCU, VRV/VRF and RTU
  • Strong leadership and mentoring abilities
  • Ability to drive results and meet deadlines
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
