About the position

Join Honeywell as a Sr Advanced Electrical Engineer and become a key player in designing the world's most advanced avionics within the Electronic Solutions Platform Organization. This role is critical as you will innovate and create the hardware electronics that are essential for the Aerospace industry. We are looking for a top-performing engineer who has a proven track record in leading avionics-based product designs, particularly within the Anthem / Thunderbolt Team. You will be part of a dedicated group of professionals who provide their expertise to ensure the success of complex engineering projects and programs. In this position, you will also act as a mentor to junior engineers, guiding them through the intricacies of product development and engineering processes. Your responsibilities will include supporting product and module development assignments, which encompass system trades, creating requirements, and completing design, analysis, and testing in an engineering laboratory setting. You will collaborate with a global, multi-disciplinary team of systems, software, programmable logic, and mechanical engineers to reach effective solutions for medium to low complexity electrical engineering problems. Additionally, you will assist in product and process certification for customer acceptance, ensuring that all projects and products comply with established standards. Your role will also involve suggesting enhancements to advance projects and supporting the transition of products into production. You may also be tasked with qualification and verification testing of hardware, ensuring that all products meet the necessary specifications and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Supports Product / Module development assignments, including supporting system trades, creating requirements, completing design, analysis, and testing in an engineering laboratory setting
  • Collaborates with a global, multi-disciplinary team of systems, software, programable logic, and mechanical engineers
  • Partners to reach effective solutions to medium to low complexity electrical engineering problems
  • Assist in product and process certification for customer acceptance
  • Guide engineers, technicians, and associates to ensure project and product compliance
  • Suggest enhancements to advance projects
  • Support transition of products into production
  • Additional responsibilities may include qualification and verification testing of hardware

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hardware engineering experience
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Aerospace or Computer Science Engineering
  • Test Engineering experience including requirements-based testing
  • Experience with modern processing technologies and architectures including micro-processors, FPGAs, memories, and high-speed IO
  • Proficiency with Mentor Graphics X-petition Enterprise Design Flow (or related tool set), Mathcad, MS Excel, and LT-Spice
  • Knowledge of DO-254, Design Assurance Guidance for Airborne Electronic Hardware and RTCA DO-160 Qualification Guidelines
  • Product level analog/linear circuits including signal conditioning
  • Demonstrated experience performing product and circuit board design verification and qualification
  • Demonstrated experience designing, simulating, analyzing, and verifying design performance to requirements
  • Capability to complete demanding assignments by applying advanced hardware engineering methods and tools
  • Mentor and coach junior level engineers
  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams to deliver optimal solutions
