Position Overview:
The primary responsibility of the Senior Analyst - Business Intelligence is to collaborate and partner with property leadership and in the production of timely and astute analytical insights and BI reporting, which leads to actionable results that drive better efficiency and overall company profitability. The Senior Analyst - Business Intelligence is responsible for executing on deployment of best practices, Tableau visualizations, BI analysis and reporting that lead to actionable results. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort's policies, practices, and procedures.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
* Work independently to design, develop, and maintain Tableau dashboards and reports to support business intelligence needs across the organization.
* Design, develop, conduct unit testing, and maintain complex Tableau reports for scalability, manageability, extensibility, performance, and re-use.
* Provides overall direction, guidance, definition, and facilitation for the advancement of dashboard development effort to meet business strategies and goals.
* Implement best practices to ensure dashboard design consistency across all dashboards for best user experience.
* Evaluate, render advice, and provide expertise on Tableau Cloud Platform adoption and consumption.
* Develop the architecture, design, code, and implementation of business intelligence solutions.
* Support active data governance by documenting business subject matter expertise within Dataplex and directing business stakeholders to the documentation to promote data literacy across the organization.
* Extract and analyze relevant data using SQL, BigQuery, and other analytical tools. Provide foundational logic and underlying tables to the business as a single source of truth.
* Develop and document best practices for Tableau dashboards creation and maintenance, usage of charts, KPI selection, and presentation.

* Function as a team lead in major projects.
* Support the Data Science and Data Engineering teams with data investigations and projects.
* Work with departments directly to answer business questions on a reoccurring and ad hoc basis by deep diving into available data environments (data marts and data lakes).
* Transform data into user friendly and intuitive reports for a non-technical audience across all levels of the company using Tableau, Excel, SSRS, and other tools.
* Collaborate with team members in other departments to identify business requirements and create data-driven solutions to support decision-making.
* Develop and maintain dashboards to track KPIs and provide insights to optimize business efforts.
* Partner with Data Engineering team to ensure technical requirements meet business needs.
* Resolve report, data, tool/application issues submitted by business partners and end-users.
* Contribute to data governance initiatives by defining and documenting data quality standards and rules, updating business glossaries and data dictionaries, and recommending improvements to foster data accuracy and usability.
* Promotes and fosters self-service analytics across the business.

Minimum Qualifications:
* 21 years of age.
* Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
* Bachelor of Science in Analytics (technical or science) or related discipline is required.
* Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Nevada Gaming Control Board registration and any other certification or license, as required by law or policy.
* 3+ years of creating Tableau dashboards is required. Advanced Tableau development skills required (complex LOD calculations, thorough understanding of order of filter operations, data blending, creation of flows, and more) supported by a robust portfolio displaying Tableau competencies.
* 3+ years of experience using analytic SQL and/or BigQuery or an MBA/Masters in similar field with 2+ years of similar experience in related discipline is required.
Minimum Qualifications:
* 3+ years of using Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft PowerPoint is required.
* 2+ years of experience using Python is preferred.
* Experience conducting training to educate users on Tableau is preferred.
* The ability to problem solves and think critically is needed.
* Ability to translate complex business requirements to technical specifications and vice versa.
* Ability to communicate effectively in a positive/upbeat fashion utilizing English, both in oral and written form.
* Have interpersonal skills with focused attention to guest needs to deal effectively with all business stakeholders.
* Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
