About the position

The Senior Analyst, Business position at Molina Healthcare involves analyzing complex business problems using data from various sources to provide insights for decision-making. The role requires identifying trends and patterns in datasets, constructing forecasts, and creating strategic plans based on business data and market knowledge. Analysts will collaborate with clients to tailor reports and analyses to meet specific needs, participate in management reviews, and present findings and recommendations. This position is general in nature, allowing employees to work with multiple types of business data, focusing on either internal operations or external clients.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources.
  • Identify and interpret trends and patterns in datasets to locate influences.
  • Construct forecasts, recommendations, and strategic/tactical plans based on business data and market knowledge.
  • Create specifications for reports and analysis based on business needs and available data elements.
  • Collaborate with clients to modify or tailor existing analysis or reports to meet their specific needs.
  • Participate in management reviews, presenting and interpreting analysis results, summarizing conclusions, and recommending a course of action.
  • Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, and requirements workshops.
  • Communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze and transform needs into functional requirements.
  • Work with operational leaders to provide recommendations on process improvements, medical cost savings, or revenue enhancements.
  • Create Business Requirements Documents, Test Plans, Requirements Traceability Matrix, and User Training materials.
  • Participate in all stages of project development including research, design, programming, testing, and implementation.
  • Write and analyze database queries, including SQL, with hands-on experience.
  • Utilize APIs and web services effectively.
  • Familiar with IT release cycles and production deployment processes, including end-user validation and testing protocols.
  • Experience with User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and familiarity with quality assurance (QA) processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5-7 years of business or system analysis experience.
  • Experience in US Healthcare government programs such as Medicare, Medicaid, or the Affordable Care Act.
  • 6+ years of managed care experience.
  • Proficiency in a variety of concepts, practices, and procedures applicable to job-related subject areas.

Nice-to-haves

  • 3-5 years of formal training or experience in Project Management.
  • Experience working with complex, highly technical teams.
  • Experience in a similar role with a strong understanding of IT systems and processes.
  • Familiarity with Core Payor systems such as QNXT, Facets, Metavance, and their various modules.
  • Strong understanding of the US Healthcare domain and operational processes including Enrollment, UM, Claims & Care Management.
  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or similar certification preferred.
