About the position

The Sr. Analyst, Division of Interest will play a crucial role within the Land team at Seneca Resources Company, LLC, focusing on managing division of interest payment decks, verifying company interests, and maintaining accurate records. This position requires strong analytical skills and the ability to interface with various departments while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Set up division of interest payment decks for new and reformed units using title opinions, title documents, and declarations of pooling
  • Verify company owned interests on any outside operated division orders
  • Organize, maintain and input supporting company electronic and paper records, including appropriate payment allocations, division orders, division of interest records into company databases
  • Work with the department's Title Analysts to identify and manage curative needs
  • Identify, implement and manage projects that will add value to the Land Department
  • Conduct research relating to property records
  • Interface and communicate effectively with, and provide support to, personnel in various functional areas, internally and externally
  • Compile reports and information regarding land records and data as required
  • Compose routine correspondence with land and lease owners
  • Create and maintain spreadsheets for department and inter-department use
  • Review funds to be escheated and assist with unclaimed property audits when required
  • Respond to internal and revenue/royalty owner inquiry communications
  • Provide assistance to land and lease owners as necessary
  • Provide assistance on other tasks as needed and requested
  • Comply with Seneca's EHSQ policies, standards and procedures and demonstrate active and regular involvement in EHSQ programs

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in business
  • Minimum of seven (7) years relevant professional experience
  • An advanced degree, such as a JD or MBA, would be strongly preferred
  • Oil and gas and/or title abstracting experience is preferred
  • Strong legal analysis background, preferably related to real property
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills are required
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills are essential
  • Proficiency with MS Office is required
  • Strong familiarity with the use of Land Systems software, such as Quorum, is preferred
  • Must be able to work independently and proactively with minimal supervision and manage multiple and diverse tasks
