About the position

The Senior Analyst, Field Finance plays a crucial role in providing financial support for CJ-operated distribution facilities across the nation. This position focuses on identifying and executing cost improvement opportunities that benefit both CJ Logistics America and its customers. The Senior Analyst will lead projects aimed at enhancing efficiencies, financial processes, and cost controls, while also supporting the Field Finance team and the network of distribution facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance and expertise to other Analysts across the Field Finance team; share knowledge base across the team.
  • Manage more complex expense issues, allocations, troubleshooting, and provide recommendations for resolution to the Field Finance Manager.
  • Monthly support of business close: Expense accruals, financial analysis and summaries for leaders, key takeaways for performance improvement, and overall ownership of the P&L for specific warehouse facilities.
  • Manage expenses for two or more multi-customer locations.
  • Lead/manage ad-hoc projects as assigned, including system and site changes.
  • Provide financial reporting using standard CJLA tools from SAP, UKG, and other labor reporting platforms.
  • Prepare journal entries and expense accrual information to ensure accurate and complete financial statements on a monthly basis; meet critical deadlines and prepare month-end close tasks and customer estimates.
  • Perform monthly P&L variance analysis and provide results and opportunities to Operations leadership.
  • Manage performance to budget expectations; identify and execute on cost savings opportunities.
  • Support Customer Operations Specialists and Leaders with invoicing processes.
  • Participate in regularly scheduled customer financial and internal review meetings with the team, including updating customer variance explanations and expense classifications; understand customer contract requirements for assigned buildings.
  • Respond to all Corporate, Operations, and customer requests for field financial information, including audit requests.
  • Serve as a trusted business partner to Operations and other Finance/Accounting roles; is a 'go to' team member.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years financial or accounting experience to provide analytical support for this key business.
  • Proficient skillset in Microsoft Office.
  • Independent performer capable of making decisions where appropriate and seeking guidance when necessary.
  • Ability to handle complex situations, issues, and information with sound judgment, diplomacy, and sensitivity.
  • Proven ability to analyze financial data and provide recommendations based on analysis; ability to identify issues impacting the network and manage escalation as needed.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with remote team members and Operations partners, including the ability to meet deadlines during financial close.
  • Comfortable in a changing environment; eager to embrace and lead change management that supports the business and improves efficiencies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills that span multiple organizational levels.
  • Results-oriented with good organizational and time-management skills; highly motivated, detail-oriented professional.
