As a Senior Analyst Financial at First Student, you will play a crucial role in compiling and analyzing financial information with limited supervision. Your primary responsibilities will include creating and analyzing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to ensure that financial data is recorded accurately. You will work closely with the leadership team, gaining valuable exposure to various aspects of financial operations within the organization. This position is designed for individuals who are detail-oriented and possess strong analytical skills, as you will be responsible for facilitating the production of financial reporting, including variance and trend analysis against budgets, prior years, and forecasts. In this role, you will facilitate monthly forecasting efforts and the annual budgeting process for all operational and functional units. You will provide analytical support to management at all levels, which includes generating ad-hoc reports and solving financial problems as they arise. Ensuring the integrity of financial reporting software is also a key responsibility, which may involve collaborating with external consultants and performing ongoing testing to maintain accuracy and reliability. You will be expected to identify trends and developments in competitive environments, presenting your findings to senior management to inform strategic decisions. Additionally, you will compile and prepare budget analyses and comparisons, suggesting improvements to the budgeting process based on your insights. Your responsibilities will also include performing financial forecasting and reconciling internal accounts, as well as reporting on headcount, fleet management, and key performance indicators to support operational performance. There may be opportunities to assist in training and mentoring junior Financial Analysts, contributing to their professional development within the organization. Other duties may be assigned as needed, making this a dynamic and engaging role.
