About the position

The Sr Analyst-FP&A position at Verizon is focused on financial planning and analysis within the Global Network & Technology FP&A Team. This role emphasizes not just data compilation but also storytelling through numbers, driving business insights, and enhancing FP&A leadership skills. The analyst will serve as a business partner to Network Engineering, contributing to expense management, business case development, and monthly forecasting and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Be a valued business partner to Network Engineering, providing research and analysis for monthly reporting and business plans.
• Create drafts of ad-hoc analyses for business clients.
• Finalize monthly analyses of business trends, budget variances, and key performance indicators for management reviews.
• Conduct initial strategic business analyses and update profitability/costing models.
• Lead business cases for small to medium-sized initiatives across network engineering.
• Communicate findings and insights clearly and concisely to partners.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or equivalent work experience.
• Three or more years of relevant work experience in financial analysis or related fields.
• Proficiency in Essbase, Smart View, Hyperion Planning, Hyperion Strategic Finance, data analytics tools (Qlik), and SAP or Peoplesoft ERP systems.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice-to-haves

• A Master's in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
• Experience in the technology and/or telecommunications industry.
• Knowledge of corporate financial planning, reporting & analysis, and costing/profitability methodologies.
• Understanding of common business and cost drivers, financial statement analysis, and deep-dive analysis.
• Good communication skills and attention to detail.
• Prior business case experience.
