About the position

The Sr. Analyst - FP&A position at PayPal involves providing strategic and operational finance support to the Consumer Product OpEx team. The role focuses on budgeting, forecasting, month-end close, variance analysis, and reporting related to operating expenses, capital expenditure, and headcount. The analyst will collaborate with cross-functional teams to guide financial decisions and ensure adherence to corporate policies and GAAP regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the business and finance team for forecasting and month-end close activities including accrual journal entries and reporting.
  • Assist in monthly reporting, variance analysis (Actual Vs. Forecast Vs. Budget), and ad-hoc deep dive analysis relating to expenses, Capex, and headcount.
  • Collaborate with budget owners and financial analysts to build business cases and manage spending for new projects/initiatives.
  • Process cost center creation and changes, and manage cost center hierarchies.
  • Lead month-end close and reporting activities, ensuring timely and accurate booking of accruals and cross-charge journal entries.
  • Monitor expense and headcount plans versus actuals, providing analysis and recommendations for business partners and the finance team.
  • Build reports and assist with monthly actuals-to-forecast variance analysis.
  • Develop an understanding of business strategic priorities and collaborate to improve financial planning and budgeting.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in FP&A
  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy in work
  • Strong analytical and data processing skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Process-focused with the ability to identify and execute process improvements
  • Experience with budget and reporting applications including BPC, BW, and SAP
