About the position

CVS Health is seeking a Senior Analyst for the Retail Pharmacy Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team. This role is pivotal in performing budgeting, forecasting, and reporting for the consolidated Retail Pharmacy Margin. The position is highly visible and hands-on, situated in a fast-paced environment that offers the right individual an opportunity to directly support the business and advance in their career. The Senior Analyst will conduct economic research, analyze profit-and-loss income statements, and prepare comprehensive reports and recommendations for management. This includes generating forecasts and analyzing trends in sales, finance, and other business areas. The role also involves creating financial models to explore various 'what if' scenarios that can inform future business planning decisions and unlock new sources of value. In this position, the Senior Analyst will assist in the development and preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans by collaborating with stakeholders to gather inputs, analyze financial data, and provide recommendations for financial targets and resource allocation. The analyst will conduct in-depth financial analysis, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and profitability analysis, supporting the forecasting process by identifying key drivers and preparing financial models to evaluate different scenarios and their impact on financial outcomes. Additionally, the role requires the development of complex financial models to support strategic decision-making, investment analysis, and business planning. The Senior Analyst will also be responsible for implementing improvements in forecasting methodologies, data collection, and analysis techniques to enhance forecasting capabilities. Identifying opportunities to streamline financial processes, improve efficiency, and enhance data accuracy is crucial. The analyst will edit and improve team processes and workflows to enhance efficiency and effectiveness, identifying bottlenecks or areas for improvement and implementing changes to optimize team performance. Furthermore, the role includes coaching and providing guidance to peers, helping them resolve problems and answer questions.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the development and preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans by collaborating with stakeholders.
  • Conducts in-depth financial analysis, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and profitability analysis.
  • Supports the forecasting process by analyzing trends, identifying key drivers, and preparing financial models.
  • Develops complex financial models to support strategic decision-making, investment analysis, and business planning.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of strategy, consulting, finance, operations, or similar experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and Excel modeling skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to use data & analytics to uncover root causes and drive decision-making.
  • Healthcare/Pharmacy industry work experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Experience with custom queries in relational databases (such as SQL).
