About the position

This position focuses on optimizing financial and performance aspects within Legal Services by leveraging data analytics. The role involves managing relationships, ensuring data reliability, and enabling effective reporting and decision-making through the establishment of key performance indicators and metrics.

Responsibilities

  • Enable the department to leverage the full value of data analytics through establishment of key performance indicators and metrics.
  • Manage background systems including data warehouses, data flows/models, and queries to create effective dashboards.
  • Amalgamate cross-departmental data sources and leverage technologies like Azure or Hyperion to improve efficiency.
  • Strengthen process and governance through maintenance and development of use and adoption metrics.
  • Ensure optimization of current technologies through collaboration with the performance team.
  • Enable technology implementation and configurations through understanding of current and future state Legal Services systems.
  • Serve as the key contact for insights and advice related to technologies, data, and business processes.
  • Monitor system permissions for non-compliance and ensure data availability through monitoring tools.
  • Provide customer service and systems administration for TeamConnect (ebilling & matter management tool).
  • Maintain effective feedback loops for system integrity and translate into self-serve tools or enhancements.
  • Assist with the provision of effective decision-making tools, technology, and training in coordination with Change Management.
  • Use agile and project management methodologies to coordinate and deliver effective dashboards.

Requirements

  • University degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Business, Engineering, Information Technology, Data Science) or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 2 to 4 years of related broad business experience, particularly in large or transformational process change.
  • Highly self-motivated with the ability to proactively drive projects and resolve issues.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working effectively at all levels in an organization and developing collaborative relationships.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Power BI for data analysis and visualization.
  • Strong experience in SQL query development, including in SQL Server and Oracle/Azure environments.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for data manipulation and presentation.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of Legal matter management (TeamConnect) is an asset.
