About the position

The Sr. Analyst in LS Analytics & System Operations at Spectra Energy is responsible for optimizing financial and performance metrics within Legal Services. This role involves leveraging data analytics to enhance decision-making processes, managing relationships with various stakeholders, and ensuring the reliability of data and systems used by the Legal Services teams.

Responsibilities

  • Enable the department to leverage the full value of data analytics through establishment of key performance indicators and metrics.
  • Manage background systems including data warehouses and queries to create effective dashboards.
  • Amalgamate cross-departmental data sources and leverage technologies like Azure or Hyperion to improve efficiency.
  • Strengthen process and governance through maintenance and development of use and adoption metrics.
  • Ensure optimization of current technologies through collaboration with the performance team.
  • Enable technology implementation and configurations through understanding of Legal Services systems.
  • Serve as the key contact for insights and advice related to technologies and data processes.
  • Monitor system permissions for non-compliance and ensure data availability through collaboration with TIS/vendor.
  • Provide customer service and manage TeamConnect, the ebilling and matter management tool.
  • Maintain effective feedback loops for system integrity and translate into self-serve tools or enhancements.
  • Assist with decision-making tools, technology, systems, communications, and training in coordination with Change Management.
  • Use agile methodologies to coordinate and deliver effective dashboards.

Requirements

  • University degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Business, Engineering, Information Technology, Data Science) or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 2 to 4 years of related business experience, particularly in transformational process change.
  • Highly self-motivated with the ability to drive projects and resolve issues.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working effectively at all levels in an organization and developing collaborative relationships.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Power BI for data analysis and visualization.
  • Strong experience in SQL query development, including SQL Server and Oracle/Azure environments.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for data manipulation.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of Legal matter management (TeamConnect) is an asset.
