About the position

The Senior Analyst, People Analytics and Data at Pacific Dental Services is responsible for providing analytical expertise and delivering reporting solutions for the People/HR function and business leaders. This role involves acting as a subject matter expert in Workday HCM reporting, developing reports and dashboards, and collaborating with various stakeholders to analyze data and present insights that drive decision-making. The position requires a strong focus on data integrity, process improvement, and innovation in people analytics.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day reporting deliverables and operational support for report requests, inquiries, and tickets.
  • Produce and deliver standard and customized People reports using Workday and Power BI.
  • Develop new and improved Workday HCM dashboards for employees, managers, and HR team members.
  • Facilitate the definition and development of business and predictive KPIs/metrics across the People/HR function.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to analyze data and present insights that drive decisions on people.
  • Analyze and interpret data using various techniques, from simple aggregation to complex statistical analysis.
  • Summarize insights and present findings to a range of audiences, including executives and business leaders.
  • Understand and analyze end-to-end processes and underlying data to identify inconsistencies and make recommendations.
  • Participate in and lead data/analytics projects, including planning, requirements development, testing, and deployment.
  • Stay updated with industry research and practices in People/HR analytics and identify opportunities for innovation.
  • Provide reporting and analytics training and guidance to end-users.
  • Adhere to data privacy and access policies, complying with security and governance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, IT/MIS, Data Science, Statistics, Math, or related fields, or +5 years of professional experience in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a People/HR data analytics and reporting capacity.
  • In-depth knowledge of People/HR reporting and data, including HR, Payroll, Compensation, Recruiting, Benefits, Learning, and Talent.
  • Experience building and maintaining advanced Workday HCM reports and dashboards.
  • Experience integrating a core HRMS application to a data warehouse/data lake.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a focus on extracting insights from large data sets.
  • Demonstrated experience in all phases of a project, including SDLC or SCRUM/Agile methodologies.
  • Effective communication, consultative, and facilitation skills.
  • Professionalism and attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and make decisions.
  • Experience with statistical analysis and data visualization tools, such as PowerBI or Tableau.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, including Excel.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a multi-regional healthcare, retail, or dental company.
  • Master's Degree in Business, IT/MIS, Data Science, Statistics or related field.
  • Workday Pro Certified (HCM Core, HCM Reporting) and exposure to Workday Prism and Discovery Boards.
  • Advanced Power BI skills.
  • Experience with Applicant Tracking, Learning and Talent systems and data.
  • Knowledge or exposure to Python or R for advanced data analysis.
