About the position

The Sr Analyst, Product Control at World Kinect is responsible for managing the production of end-of-day (EOD) Profit and Loss (P&L) reports, ensuring accuracy and providing explanations of key P&L movements related to trading activities across Marine, Aviation, and Land segments. This role requires a strong understanding of financial derivatives and market volatility, as well as the ability to lead system improvements and handle various reconciliation processes.

Responsibilities

  • Production of EOD PnL reports, with reconciliation to Traders' calculations; ensuring accuracy to risk systems.
  • Explanation of P&L movements to management in terms of trading activity, key drivers, profit attribution analysis.
  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of the concept of mark-to-market and can articulate market/price volatility in terms of its effect on P&L, cash flow and working capital.
  • Ensuring non-derivative transactions are treated with the right accounting treatment (Structured deals / Storage / Supply contracts etc.).
  • Playing a lead role on commercial vs accounting reconciliations.
  • Lead analyst on system improvements/enhancements in ETRM on automating any of the listed trade processes, including rolling out daily recs for any new accounts.
  • Reconciling where necessary OTC and futures positions and cash against exchanges.
  • Helping with the integrity checks on market data curves, to ensure EOD process is smooth.
  • Act as first point of contact for all non-pricing queries for Front Office/ Back office/Ops/Legal/Credit.
  • Daily Trade Captures exceptions reporting.
  • Involved in monthly IPV process (price testing, sensitivity analysis to consensus curves).
  • Ad Hoc projects as initiated.

Requirements

  • 3 + years of experience in Middle Office/Product Control/Risk Management within energy trading or investment banking.
  • Ideally previous P&L analysis exposure for commodities-based products.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business related disciplines such as Finance, Management, and Economics.
  • Specialized knowledge in the structure and uses of financial Derivatives as they relate to the management of fuel price risk (futures/swaps/options).
  • Knowledge of Oracle and related programs desired, not essential.
  • Knowledge of Enverus MarketView is desired, not essential.
  • Computer Proficiency and software skills (Word, Excel, Outlook), strong Excel skills / VBA skills preferred (VBA, PowerBi, SQL, and/or QuickBase experience is a plus).
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written).
  • Absolute integrity.
