About the position

The Sr. Analyst, Product Management at Travelers is responsible for managing the growth and profitability of specific states, products, or lines of business. This role involves analyzing complex business problems, proposing data-driven solutions, and collaborating with various partners to ensure strategic alignment and successful execution of initiatives. The position requires strong analytical skills, strategic thinking, and effective communication to influence business decisions and drive desired outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Independently conduct and understand data analysis of business results including product refreshes and performance expectations.
  • Formulate and execute recommendations to drive growth and profitability based on established strategy.
  • Present and influence recommendations to business partners regarding product/pricing changes or new product builds.
  • Function as a subject matter expert in strategic initiatives to support organizational goals.
  • Coach and mentor on specific projects as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management/Administration, Mathematics, Finance, Actuarial Science, Economics, or related field.
  • Three years' experience in a mathematical, analytical, or data-related role, preferably in financial services.
  • Experience with competitive analysis tools.
  • Strong data analysis skills with the ability to interpret trends and provide insights.
  • Knowledge of pricing and actuarial techniques, including loss development and trending.
  • Understanding of ratemaking and its application, such as profitability and risk loads.
  • Familiarity with the workflow and terminology of insurance products and processes.
