About the position

The Internal Sales & Service (ISS) Specialist at Nationwide Financial is responsible for building and maintaining strategic relationships with financial professionals and clients. This role focuses on advising and consulting to meet business unit sales goals while providing exceptional care to customers. The position requires a Series 6 license upon application and a Series 63 license within 120 days of hire, and it operates in a hybrid work environment, requiring in-office attendance three days a week.

Responsibilities

  • Initiates daily contacts to targeted business partners to build relationships and discover needs for products and services.
  • Develops and grows strategic business partnerships to meet territory management performance requirements.
  • Acts as a consultative link between business partners and Nationwide Financial.
  • Applies knowledge of industry trends and market movements to advise business partners.
  • Evaluates business partners' viability concerning customer and business needs.
  • Provides appropriate strategies and solutions to meet client needs.
  • Responds to requests from business partners and external sales, providing support materials.
  • Consults with business partners to address concerns about not using Nationwide products.
  • Proactively provides financial expertise and practice management advice to business partners.
  • Executes proactive contacts to support campaigns highlighting product features and benefits.
  • Partners with external sales to consult with business partners to grow their business.
  • Advises on product and procedural modifications to meet business partner or client needs.
  • Engages business partners to retain business and advises on alternative solutions for retention.
  • Represents ISS in meetings and initiatives such as advisory boards and relationship strategy partnerships.
  • Consults with functions across Nationwide to build competitive products and services.
  • Travels temporarily to cover external wholesaler territory and conduct in-person meetings.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in human ecology, business, finance, communications, marketing or related field required.
  • FINRA Series 6 and Series 63 licenses required, with the latter to be obtained within 120 days of hire.
  • Three years of experience in a sales-driven position, preferably in a sales or service call center environment with a financial services background.
  • In-depth knowledge of insurance and financial products and consultative sales processes.

  • Experience in a sales or service call center environment preferred.
