About the position

The Senior Analyst, Retail Settlements at Constellation is responsible for overseeing the operation of various systems related to market settlement and retail energy invoicing. This role requires advanced knowledge of retail electric markets and involves coordinating data flow, performing impact analysis, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The analyst will act as a liaison with commercial business segments and will be a subject matter expert, contributing to the management of cost components associated with electric supply for a large customer portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain advanced knowledge of competitive energy markets and retail electric cost component calculations.
  • Support alignment between Wholesale and Retail portfolios, managing invoicing processes exceeding $70M monthly.
  • Perform billing duties for ISO sub-accounts and manage Peak Response settlement.
  • Provide analysis and reporting to support internal and external requirements related to retail electric supply.
  • Monitor data flow between external and internal applications, performing thorough analysis of load variance.
  • Interface with Commercial & Industrial customers to resolve inquiries and business issues.
  • Ensure adherence to Sarbanes-Oxley Key Financial Controls and other company policies.
  • Innovate workflow processes and collaborate with other teams for ongoing improvements.
  • Design and implement solutions for non-standard deals and new market entries.
  • Work with leadership to develop team talent and provide training.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or related discipline.
  • 5 or more years of equivalent business experience.
  • Prior experience in the retail energy industry and/or regulated energy industry.
  • Advanced knowledge of retail & wholesale energy products and ISO, RTO or Exchange settlement activities.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Access and/or SQL database query development.
  • Demonstrative technical analysis/consulting skills with 3 or more years of experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external parties.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve complex problems quickly.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Management, Management Information Technology or Supply Chain Management.
  • Prior experience using CRM and/or Order-to-Cash workflow systems.
  • Working knowledge of UDC/ISO market EDI transactions.
