About the position

The Sr. Analyst in Treasury Operations at Northern Trust plays a crucial role in supporting the Corporate Treasury's management of financial risks affecting the balance sheet. This position involves executing back-office functions, handling daily inquiries, and serving as a liaison between various stakeholders, including the Treasury Front Office and external counterparties. The role requires a strong understanding of financial markets and the ability to manage data quality controls, reconciliations, and audit deliverables while collaborating with different teams to enhance processes.

Responsibilities

• Operate under general supervision and work independently on daily, monthly, and quarterly deliverables.
• Conduct daily workflow supporting Balance Sheet Management activities involving Assets, Liabilities, and Collateral Management.
• Liaise with the Front Office to approve daily transactions.
• Develop technical skills to navigate the system of record for the security portfolio and its use by downstream stakeholders.
• Carry out data quality controls that impact accounting and cash clearing functions.
• Work closely with Management on reconciliations and audit deliverables.
• Collaborate with the Middle Office on testing new capabilities and enhancing current processes.
• Learn and acquire knowledge to become a Treasury Operations subject matter expert.

Requirements

• A College or University degree in a Business related field.
• 2+ years of relevant proven work experience.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Knowledge of financial markets and familiarity with fixed income securities.
• Highly flexible and adaptable to change.
• Project management, time management, and communication skills.
• Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerBi skills.
