About the position
The Senior Analytical Chemist at Nufarm will lead the North America product development analytical group, focusing on analytical method development and support for regulatory submissions. This role involves hands-on work with various chromatographic techniques and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure effective data generation and method implementation. The position also includes training and supporting less experienced chemists, managing analytical instruments, and contributing to global projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead analytical method development using HPLC, LC-MS, GC, and GC-MS.
- Support Regulatory by reviewing 5BA reports for new active ingredients and sources.
- Prepare necessary documentation such as Certificates of Analysis and technical reports.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align analytical methods with project needs.
- Train users on analytical hardware and software, providing technical support and solutions.
- Manage instrument access, cleaning, calibration, and performance testing.
- Assist junior chemists in sample processing and data interpretation.
- Identify opportunities for improving lab operations and efficiency.
Requirements
- PhD in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or related fields with three years of industrial experience, or MS in Chemistry with five years of industry experience.
- Practical experience with liquid chromatography systems (LC, LC-MS, GC, GC-MS).
- Significant experience in analytical method development for liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry.
- Experience troubleshooting and diagnosing issues with analytical instrumentation.
- Ability to communicate scientific information effectively to various audiences.
- IT skills, including experience with scientific literature search tools.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in the agricultural industry.
- Familiarity with triple-quadrupole mass spectrometers.
- Experience reviewing 5BA reports and writing chemistry portions for submissions.
