About the position

The Sr Analytics Engineer at GE Aviation will play a pivotal role in the development and deployment of physics-based analytics specifically related to turbofan engines. This position is crucial for integrating analytical insights into processes and products that drive business and customer decisions. The individual in this role will demonstrate leadership by effectively communicating business goals, programs, and processes relevant to their area or business segment. They will leverage their expertise to solve complex problems and will be responsible for setting and executing objectives for themselves and their team. This role is designed to impact both short-term and long-term business goals, making it essential for the success of the organization. In this position, the Sr Analytics Engineer will be tasked with developing analytic models aimed at enhancing productivity, addressing field issues, and improving the predictability of engine removals. They will be at the forefront of advancing the state-of-the-art in physics-based analytics and data science, ensuring that analytics are incorporated into engine testing to better understand the impacts of design changes and fielded durability expectations. The engineer will execute analyses and evaluations of assigned projects, ensuring they meet business standards, practices, and product requirements with limited guidance. The role also involves providing technical leadership to personnel and cross-functional teams, implementing plans to meet technical requirements, and developing action plans to address issues. The Sr Analytics Engineer will lead or participate in teams focused on organizational initiatives and generic issues, recommending approaches to meet technical and program requirements. Participation in technical and program reviews is expected, along with ensuring proper documentation of technical data generated for assigned projects, consistent with engineering policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Develop analytic models to drive productivity, support field issues and improve engine removal predictability.
  • Further the state-of-the-art in the area of physics-based analytics and data science.
  • Incorporate analytics and environmental impacts within engine testing to improve understanding of design change impacts and fielded durability expectations.
  • Execute with limited guidance the analysis/evaluation of assigned projects that meet business standards, practices and procedures and the product/program requirements.
  • Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned individual and team projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership to personnel/cross-functional teams supporting the assigned project.
  • Implement plans with guidance to meet technical requirements of assigned components and systems.
  • Develop action plans with guidance to respond to issues/problems.
  • Lead or participate on teams assigned to address organizational initiatives and generic issues.
  • Recommend, with guidance, the approach to meet the technical and program requirements.
  • Participate and present or review in technical and program reviews.
  • Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in data analytics/digital technology
