About the position

As a Senior Business Systems Analyst in Information Technology Services at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our cloud financial management initiatives, specifically focusing on FinOps. This position requires a deep understanding of financial operations and the ability to analyze complex data and processes to identify issues and devise effective solutions. You will be responsible for developing dashboards that provide in-depth analysis on cost and usage metrics, working closely with technical resources, IT finance, and IT leaders across the organization to monitor and provide recommendations around FinOps. Your expertise in communicating and collaborating with business leaders will be invaluable as you facilitate communication between business units and IT teams to ensure mutual understanding and project alignment. In this role, you will create detailed reports by gathering, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends, and you will conduct thorough business process analysis to identify areas for improvement and optimization. You will also be involved in developing an Eco (AI) System using Python and SQL, reviewing data to uncover hidden patterns, correlations, and insights from raw data and Data Lakes. Your responsibilities will include monitoring alerts and anomaly detection, assisting in the organization's automation initiatives, and providing Artificial Intelligence insights. You will document requirements, define scope and objectives, and formulate systems to align with overall business strategies, while also providing training and support to users on new or updated dashboards and processes. Additionally, you will monitor system performance post-implementation and resolve any issues that arise, collaborating with other subject matter experts on standard processes in FinOps system design and implementation. Staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and business strategies will be crucial as you recommend innovative solutions that align technology with business and technical strategies. This position supports several moderately complex business processes and serves as a project team member, contributing to the overall success of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzing complex data and processes to identify issues and devise effective solutions
  • Understanding and documenting FinOps business requirements of stakeholders to guide the creation of effective solutions
  • Creating detailed reports by gathering, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends
  • Facilitating communication between business units and IT teams to ensure mutual understanding and project alignment
  • Developing an Eco (AI) System using Python and SQL
  • Reviewing to uncover hidden patterns, correlations, and insights from raw data/Data Lakes
  • Reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating business systems and user needs
  • Monitoring alerts and anomaly detection
  • Assisting in the organization's automation initiatives
  • Providing Artificial Intelligence insights
  • Conducting thorough business process analysis to identify areas for improvement and optimization
  • Documenting requirements, defining scope and objectives, and formulating/designing systems to parallel overall business strategies
  • Providing technical expertise in identifying, evaluating and developing systems and procedures that are cost effective and meet user requirements
  • Configuring system settings and options; planning and executing unit, integration and acceptance testing; and creating specifications for systems to meet business requirements
  • Providing consultation to users in the area of automated systems
  • Providing training and support to users on new or updated dashboards and processes
  • Monitoring system performance post-implementation and resolving any issues that arise
  • Collaborating with other subject matter experts on standard processes in FinOps system design and implementation
  • Staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and business strategies to recommend innovative solutions
  • Working with business partners within one or more business functions to align technology solutions with business and technical strategies
  • Supporting several moderately complex business processes
  • Serving as a project team member

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, Systems Analysis or a related field or equivalent work experience
  • 7+ years of relevant technical or business work experience
  • Strong knowledge of FinOps principles and values
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services pricing and usage
  • Ability to develop Tableau dashboards

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Python and SQL preferred
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services and Data Lakes
  • Strong ability to query and manage data using SQL
  • Familiar with Apptio preferred but not required
  • Familiar with Gitlab preferred but not required
  • FinOps Foundation certified preferred but not required
