As a Senior Application Developer at Lincoln Financial Group, you will play a pivotal role in providing subject matter expertise and direction on complex projects and initiatives within your assigned area of application development responsibility. Your primary focus will be on developing innovative business solutions by creating new applications, modifying existing ones, and providing post-production support. You will be responsible for delivering complex business application software solutions while adhering to the system development life cycle process. In this role, you will maintain knowledge of current and emerging developments and trends relevant to your responsibilities, assessing their impact and collaborating with senior management to incorporate these trends into current and future solutions. You will direct and enhance organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and departmental or enterprise initiatives. Your ability to identify and implement process improvements will significantly enhance quality across your team, department, and business unit. You will also mentor and provide direction on complex assignments and projects, ensuring adherence to project schedules, technical direction, and application development standards. As a subject matter expert, you will assess and measure the impacts of solution designs on IT infrastructure capacity and application architecture standards, while also considering future maintenance and support needs. Your role will involve serving as an escalation point for technical issue resolution and providing input on project plans, test plans, and implementation plans, including estimates on timelines, resources, and budgets. Your technical responsibilities will include analyzing, designing, coding, debugging, integrating, and testing complex software application solutions. You will create technical specifications from business requirements and provide expertise regarding the integration of applications across the business. Additionally, you will partner with internal stakeholders to ensure that systems are designed, developed, and implemented from a business perspective, while proactively identifying and resolving complex problems in a timely manner. Effective communication with internal stakeholders and management will be essential to ensure successful implementation of system improvements. Experience in the Agile framework and development model is also a key requirement for this position.
