About the position

The Sr. PHP Application Developer at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) is responsible for developing and modifying software for the PEER application, which serves as the enterprise contracts management solution. This role involves full programming stack responsibilities, including database design, PHP programming, and front-end development. The developer will work collaboratively with business analysts, stakeholders, and other programmers to enhance existing features and implement new functions, ensuring the software is clean, maintainable, and efficient.

Responsibilities

• Develops or modifies software.
• Ensures appropriate documentation for all development and modification.
• Ensures integrity and security of institutional data.
• May lead teams and coach the development of Application Developers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• 5 years of relevant work experience in software development.
• Fluency in modern PHP paradigms, including Object Oriented Programming principles and best practices.
• Experience with Composer/Packagist, Doctrine ORM, Symfony Framework components, and relational databases such as Oracle.

Nice-to-haves
