About the position

The Sr. Application Development and Support Engineer at The Nature Conservancy (TNC) is responsible for providing functional and technical support throughout the application life cycle management framework for Corporate Systems applications. This role involves developing and supporting Workday integrations, reporting, and Extend functionalities, while participating in the software development life cycle for Workday implementations. The position plays a crucial role in TNC's digital transformation efforts, impacting various corporate applications such as Finance, HRIS, and Legal.

Responsibilities

  • Provide functional and technical support for Corporate Systems applications throughout the application life cycle management framework.
  • Develop and provide production support for Workday integrations, reporting, and Extend.
  • Participate in all aspects of the software development life cycle for Workday implementations.
  • Review and analyze business requirements for projects of varying complexity and impact.
  • Perform tasks to deliver projects and maintain applications, providing support for production problems as needed.
  • Design and develop new technology systems and solutions according to system requirements and best practices.
  • Act as technical lead on application maintenance projects related to upgrades, conversions, and modifications.
  • Work with internal teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Assist technical support staff and users by diagnosing complex problems and implementing corrective actions.
  • Document system designs, development processes, and integration specifications for clarity and continuity.
  • Lead the design and implementation of Workday Extend applications and custom development projects.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on Workday integration tools.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
  • Five years of experience in programming and systems design.
  • Three years of recent experience in supporting Workday Integrations, Workday Extend, APIs, and reporting.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with agile development methodologies.
  • Familiarity with additional programming languages or technologies related to application development.
