About the position

At Henkel, the Sr. Application Engineer for Battery Applications plays a crucial role in enhancing the performance and reliability of adhesive technologies used in battery applications. This position is centered around standardizing and developing new test methods that utilize a variety of analytical techniques, both destructive and non-destructive. The engineer will leverage customer feedback to optimize customer service and testing processes, ensuring that the solutions provided meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency. In addition to developing test methods, the engineer will participate in the validation of test standards and provide training to lab personnel, marketing, and sales teams. This role also involves engaging with customers through presentations, offering insights on best practices in the field, and leading both internal and external technical requests and projects. A key responsibility is to ensure that all laboratory and application equipment is calibrated and safety-checked in compliance with local regulations, maintaining a safe and efficient working environment. The position requires a commitment to continuous improvement and innovation, as the engineer will be expected to stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in technology. With a travel requirement of up to 20%, the role offers opportunities to engage with clients and stakeholders directly, fostering strong relationships and understanding their needs better.

Responsibilities

  • Standardize and develop new test methods leveraging a wide range of analytical test methods (destructive/non-destructive testing).
  • Leverage customer feedback to drive optimization in customer service and testing processes.
  • Participate in test standard validations, training others (e.g. lab personnel, marketing, sales) and internal presentations.
  • Participate in customer presentations and consult them on best-practices applied in the respective field.
  • Lead internal and external technical requests and projects.
  • Ensure laboratory and application equipment are calibrated and safety checked in compliance with local regulations.

Requirements

  • Minimum a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Automation, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with robotic dispense technology and automation systems.
  • Proficiency in managing laboratory information systems and electronic laboratory notebooks.
  • Strong consultative and communication skills, with experience in customer-facing roles as well as customer presentation.
  • Technical Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving skills.
  • Familiarity with Equipment Calibration and Safety Compliance.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary range of $85,000.00 - $105,000.00 based on experience and qualifications.
