The Senior Application Engineer plays a crucial role in the technical support of the outside sales team, acting as the primary technical resource. This position is responsible for the design and engineering of electronic control solutions tailored to meet specific customer system requirements. The Senior Application Engineer collaborates closely with outside sales representatives and customers to develop and refine system specifications, ensuring that the solutions provided align with customer needs. This role involves organizing design concepts, developing cost estimates, and preparing proposals that support the sales efforts of the outside team. Additionally, the Senior Application Engineer may serve as a mentor to junior Application Engineers, providing guidance and sharing expertise to enhance the team's overall performance. In this position, the engineer must understand and effectively communicate customer requirements both internally and to factory partners. Training customers and outside sales teams on product technologies is a key responsibility, as is providing real-time technical support to both the sales team and customers. The Senior Application Engineer is expected to maintain a high level of expertise regarding the technical products offered by factory partners. This includes preparing a detailed scope of work for customer solutions and sizing and designing applications that may involve pneumatic systems, motion control, six-axis robots, and vision systems. The role may also include other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the engineering and sales teams.
