About the position

Supermicro is seeking a talented and passionate Sr. Application Engineer with extensive knowledge in computer server platforms, particularly in networking controllers. This role involves providing technical support to enterprise customers and data centers, as well as collaborating with the Product Manager to manage the networking adapter product line. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in computer server architecture and exceptional communication skills to effectively interface with management at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for pre and post sales on-site technical support, providing optimized solutions for server products, specifically networking controllers such as Ethernet, Infiniband, and Fibre Channel.
• Conduct market and technical research; provide technical recommendations, implementations, and support for optimized networking solutions, both hardware and software.
• Lead other product hardware and software engineers in investigating and resolving problems in development, utilizing knowledge and skills in networking technologies, protocols, topologies, interoperability, and hardware/software interaction.
• Perform product design, integration, and conduct diagnostic routines for troubleshooting.
• Handle day-to-day customer technical support of networking-related issues.
• Improve networking product quality by proactively resolving field issues.
• Act as a liaison between the product development team and customers to evaluate technical requirements of network products to meet customer specifications, and work closely with Research and Development on new server product designs and customer problem solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent; EE, CE, or CS degree is strongly preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of working experience in Server Products and Networking is preferred.
• Excellent knowledge of computer server products.
• Familiarity with networking adapters is a plus.
• Self-starter approach to work, with an eagerness to consistently exceed objectives and improve processes.
• Strong communication skills in both verbal and written forms.
