About the position

The Sr. Application Engineer at Chart Industries is responsible for developing proposals and assessing customer needs to recommend appropriate products and services. This role involves providing technical support to clients post-sale, troubleshooting technical issues, and acting as a liaison between engineering and sales teams. The engineer will engage in continuous improvement initiatives and represent the company in customer interactions, ensuring high-quality service and effective relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze customer requirements for application of products and recommend suitable product selections.
  • Act as a liaison between engineering and sales representatives regarding specific product applications, product design improvements, and possible product development ideas.
  • Provide technical assistance, information, support, and guidance to customers and sales representatives to maximize sales volume and earnings.
  • Provide input for proposal, data packages, and product and parts pricing proposals.
  • Ensure proposals are consistent with quotes and review for accuracy, editing for correct spare parts and data listed.
  • Maintain proficiency in application engineering skills and the use of Application Engineering tools.
  • Engage with all businesses and functions to promote and sustain a continuous improvement culture within the organization.
  • Represent the company with customers and business partners.
  • Gather critical site information about Howden installed base for CRM system and prospect for additional opportunities.
  • Prepare all required documents for Handover meetings in accordance with MS Dynamics AX.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years applications experience including selection and costing, preferably with rotating equipment.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Customer focus while balancing Howden and customer interests during disputes.
  • Logical problem-solving skills, outstanding organizational skills, and dedication to quality and integrity.
  • Decision-making skills including knowledge of varying decision-making styles and appropriateness of each.
  • Ability to interact with diverse global cultures and demonstrate effective communication skills with associates, suppliers, and customers.
  • Positive attitude, ethics, and values necessary to support the company's mission and a high-performance culture.
