About the position

The position involves leading highly complex or enterprise-critical projects that require a diverse array of programming expertise. The individual will be responsible for application analysis, design, development, integration, and enhancement. Daily responsibilities include managing multiple concurrent projects and support efforts, ensuring that all technical solutions are innovative and effective in resolving complex computer security issues. The role requires a strong focus on providing buy vs. build recommendations, advising on system options, risks, return on investment (ROI), and the impact on business processes. In addition, the candidate will assess customer needs to align unit and corporate business needs, establishing strategic priorities that guide project development. Recommendations will be made towards the development of new code or the reuse of existing code, with an emphasis on identifying better sources of data feeds. The individual will interface with Enterprise Architects to ensure feasibility with the corporate data warehouse. Furthermore, the role includes leading the development of guidelines and standards for software development and integration, as well as developing and implementing plans for integration testing. Collaboration with testing teams will be essential to incorporate these plans into the integration testing process.

Responsibilities

  • Resolve highly complex computer security issues by designing, developing, and implementing innovative technical solutions.
  • Provide buy vs. build recommendations, advising on system options, risks, ROI, and impact to business processes.
  • Assess customer needs to determine alignment of unit/corporation business needs and establish strategic priorities.
  • Make recommendations towards the development of new code or reuse of existing code.
  • Identify better sources of data feeds and interface with Enterprise Architects to ensure feasibility with corporate data warehouse.
  • Lead the development of guidelines and standards for software development/integration.
  • Develop and lead implementation plans for integration testing and interface with testing teams.

Requirements

  • US citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain DOE Q level security clearance.
  • Five or more years of direct work experience.
  • Programming experience in various major programming languages (e.g. Java, C#, Python).
  • Demonstrated experience serving as a Technical Lead in support of projects.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree, certification, or two additional years of direct work experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree and certification is preferred.
  • One or more years' experience working within Single Page Application frameworks (e.g. Angular, React).
  • Demonstrated skills in Node JS.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of version control such as Gitlab.
  • Demonstrated skill in languages such as Java, CSS, SASS/LESS, HTML, or JavaScript.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of two-factor authentication protocols (SAML2, OpenID Connect).
  • Familiarity with Oauth2.
  • Demonstrated experience managing applications in Windows Server/UNIX environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to make and maintain RESTful API calls.
  • Good working knowledge of the SDLC.
  • Ability to mentor colleagues.
