About the position

The Sr. Applications Engineer at Monolithic Power Systems, Inc. (MPS) is a senior-level role focused on application and system engineering within the semiconductor industry. The position involves defining analog IC products, developing reference circuits, and providing technical support and training. The engineer will collaborate with design engineers, marketing, and field applications teams to create high-density module products for cloud computing power solutions, particularly for CPU, GPU, ASIC, and SOC applications.

Responsibilities

• Define analog IC products and develop reference circuits.
• Write datasheets, application notes, and design notes.
• Provide application support and technical training.
• Collaborate with design engineers and marketing to define high-density module products.
• Develop application reference circuits and system-level power management solutions for Data Center/AI applications.
• Conduct hands-on lab bench evaluations and system debugging.
• Support existing products and drive new product development.
• Promote MPS products through writing for magazines and conferences.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in switch mode power supply designs, especially in multi-phase core power design.
• Familiarity with lab tools such as oscilloscopes, DMM, power supplies, e-loads, and frequency analyzers.
• Prior work experience in multi-phase products is highly preferred.
• Proven problem-solving capability.
• Experience with simulation tools like Simplis, Maxwell, and Icepak is preferred.
• Experience in PCB design/layout is a plus.
• Fluent communication skills in English.
• Excellent writing and presentation skills.
• Self-motivated.
