About the position

The Applications Engineer is a senior-level role responsible for providing expert programming and configuration support for security systems. This position involves leading and mentoring junior technicians, ensuring high standards of service delivery and system performance, and preparing for potential transition into a Lead or Supervisor role.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of security and intrusion system programming across various platforms.
  • Oversee IP address configuration and management for security devices, ensuring robust network performance and security compliance.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Tier 3 support, providing advanced troubleshooting and resolution for complex issues.
  • Conduct thorough system audits, performance evaluations, and risk assessments, implementing strategies for continuous improvement.
  • Mentor junior technicians, providing training, guidance, and support to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, updates, and support requests.
  • Work closely with IT management to develop strategies for system enhancements, resource allocation, and project prioritization.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with all levels of personnel.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities, with a strong focus on efficiency and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to manage and mentor a team.
  • Strong organizational skills with a commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Comprehensive understanding of security systems and technologies, with a focus on best practices.

Nice-to-haves

  • Significant experience in security systems support and/or IT, with a strong understanding of security technologies.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry standards, best practices, and emerging technologies in security systems.
  • Experience in project management and team leadership roles is a plus.
