About the position

The Sr. Architectural Project Manager at Helix Design Group is responsible for managing complex multi-discipline projects within the A/E/C industry. This role emphasizes collaboration among clients, designers, and contractors to achieve desired project outcomes. The position requires a strong background in project management, particularly in federal, DOD, and civic projects, and involves both project and program management responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teamwork, continuous improvement, and a business mindset, along with the ability to lead and inspire team members.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise project teams comprising architects, engineers, and designers for medium to large projects.
  • Engage in design discussions and collaborate on drawings, models, and 3D imaging formats.
  • Direct non-licensed professionals in the design and production of technical documents.
  • Attend project and client meetings to explore business development opportunities.
  • Create graphical images and perform design and detailing tasks in Revit.
  • Ensure compliance with architectural specifications, building codes, and ADA requirements.

Requirements

  • 10 to 15+ years of experience in architecture.
  • Completion of an accredited professional degree program in architecture (bachelor's or master's).
  • PMI's PMP certification or a plan to obtain it within one year of achieving Project Manager 4 status.
  • Experience managing federal, DOD, and civic projects with a focus on critical and creative thinking in design processes.
  • Thorough understanding of architectural specifications, local, state, and federal building codes, and life safety codes.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, SpecLink, and Microsoft Office.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Google SketchUp, and the Adobe Suite.
  • Knowledge of programming, planning, and building performance.
