Sr. Art Director

About the position

JAKKS Pacific, Inc., a leading designer and marketer of toys and consumer products, with a wide range of products that feature some of the most popular brands and children's toy licenses in the world, currently seeks an experienced, energetic, self-starter for the role of Sr. Art Director for our headquarters in Santa Monica, CA.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for implementing design & conceptualization of innovative packaging for licensed and in-house consumer products under the direction of the Director or VP.
• Design logos, branding, retail & trade show displays, advertising, websites and other related marketing and sales materials.
• Prepare production ready packaging files for print.
• Manage sale sample requests.
• Responsible for hitting targeted deadlines.
• Post final mechanical art to the Hong Kong team or domestic vendors.
• Evaluate designs for cost effectiveness, considering material options and manufacturability.
• Ability to art direct photo shoots.
• Oversee and art direct designers.

Requirements

• 5+ years w/ some management experience.
• Degree in related fields; graphic art, illustration or packaging.
• Expert CS6 Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop Software.
• Well organized and have excellent communication skills.
• Good mechanical/production skills with excellent use of typography, layout and design.
• Experience in Toy packaging preferable; girls and/or preschool branded packaging a plus.
• Web design and development a plus.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Compensation: JAKKS Pacific offers a competitive salary. Compensation for this role commensurate with experience, qualifications, location, and education and typically ranges from $85,000-$100,000.
