About the position

The Sr. Aruba Wireless Network Engineer is responsible for the design, development, installation, configuration, testing, and troubleshooting of multi-vendor network-related equipment, particularly focusing on Aruba and Cisco technologies. This role requires frequent travel within the domestic U.S. to support government solutions, ensuring the optimization and maintenance of wireless and LAN networks. The engineer will also document system designs and provide Tier 3 support, acting as a liaison to field engineering teams.

Responsibilities

  • Research and develop existing and new wireless technologies to optimize and maintain networks.
  • Design, configure, implement, test, and troubleshoot Wireless and LAN components and networks.
  • Integrate wireless equipment with current WAN and security infrastructure in collaboration with 3rd party and internal departments.
  • Optimize wireless performance while ensuring security requirements for user/device authentication, encryption, and intrusion detection.
  • Install, configure, troubleshoot, and modify wireless network hardware and software.
  • Provide Tier 3 support for LAN/WLAN networks and client devices, including hand-held devices.
  • Document installed networks, including systems design, operations and implementation guides, and Visio design drawings.
  • Maintain the security and integrity of all wireless hardware and software.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or AS/AA with 8 years of experience; or HS/GED with 10 years of experience; or BA in a relevant technical area with 5 years of experience.
  • 5-8 years of experience in the wireless and network communications industry.
  • Security + / DoD 8140 certification level IAT-I (must have within 3 months of hire).
  • Aruba Certified Mobility Expert v8.x (ACMX) or Aruba Certified Design Expert (ACDX).
  • Aruba Certified Switch Professional (ACSP) (must have within 4 months of hire).
  • Familiarity with Survey analysis software or equivalent.
  • Proficiency with Aruba's Airwave management platform.
  • Knowledge of DNS & DHCP functions.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Visio.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to interact well with engineers, technicians, and customers.

  • Aruba Certified ClearPass Professional (ACCP).
  • Aruba Certified Mobility Expert (ACMX) (8.x Code Version).
  • Aruba Certified Design Professional (ACDP).
  • Certified Wireless Network Professional (CWNP) or equivalent.
