About the position

IDeaS is actively seeking an experienced AWS cloud engineer with a DevOps background to join our Cloud Solutions and Enablement team. In this role you will be responsible for building and supporting an existing set of platform-based services designed to accelerate adoption and delivery of cloud native solutions across the organization, safely and at scale. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of cloud computing, networking, monitoring, infrastructure as code, containers, automation, CI/CD processes, and agile. To be successful in the role you should be able to work in a fast-paced environment, quick to learn new technologies, and willing to collaborate across teams and provide solutions. The ideal candidate should have a hunger for continuous learning, problem solving, and keeping up to date with the latest technologies and industry trends.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with engineering and development professionals to evaluate requirements and facilitate deployment of cloud-based solutions that meet the organization's needs.
  • Build, maintain, and support platform-based solutions that enable teams to deploy both existing and new cloud-based services rapidly, safely, and at scale.
  • Integrate, monitor, and support 3rd party platforms such as Atlassian, Atlas, GitHub, and DataDog.
  • Develop, maintain, and implement governance processes for applications targeting cloud deployment, including standards for monitoring, threat management, and data protection, and cost management.
  • Be a contact point for teams that require assistance in cloud onboarding, design, implementation, and support of new and existing cloud environments.
  • Develop and maintain a core set of shared Terraform modules, GitHub workflows, and reference architectures designed to streamline cloud team onboarding and service delivery.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience working in, automating, and supporting cloud-based services on AWS.
  • Experience working with core AWS Services, including but not limited to: AWS Organizations, Lambda, ECS, S3, CloudFront, RDS, DynamoDB, and API Gateway.
  • Solid understanding of Cloud Compute, Security, Storage, and Networking.
  • Hands-on experience building out automated CI/CD workflows and actions in GitHub or similar.
  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools and techniques.
  • Experience coding in programming languages such as Java, Python, Node, etc.
  • Experience building, deploying, and working with containers.
  • Experience working in Linux and automating tasks leveraging Bash and/or Python.
  • Experience calling and consuming REST APIs in scripts and leveraging vendor SDKs to interact with cloud services.
