The Senior Associate, Customer Service & Patient Collections at Boston Children's Hospital is responsible for addressing patient and guarantor concerns related to billing and collections. This role involves initiating contact with patients to collect outstanding balances, ensuring compliance with hospital policies, and providing assistance regarding financial options. Responsibilities

• Responding to patient/guarantor concerns regarding payer denials, coding accuracy, and billing issues.
• Initiating contact with patients and guarantors to collect patient liability.
• Being knowledgeable about Boston Children's Hospital Credit & Collection Policy and Financial Assistance Policy.
• Researching inquiries to resolution and communicating findings to patients in a timely manner.
• Following established regulations and procedures in collection and handling of information.
• Demonstrating a positive attitude and promoting a cooperative team environment.
• Listening and interacting tactfully and effectively with patients and guarantors.
• Escalating recurring billing trends and assisting in developing solutions.

Requirements

• A High School Diploma / GED and 2 years relevant experience required.
• Ability to perform reliably in all duties.
• Attention to detail and good organizational skills.
• Ability to meet priorities within set timeframes and work as part of a team.
• Critical and strategic thinking skills.
• Knowledge of consumer & federal rights and regulations.
• Thorough understanding of benefits and coverage as indicated by third party payer requirements.
• Knowledge of insurance referrals and authorizations in relation to medical billing.
• Ability to identify problems and find effective solutions with few guidelines.
• Demonstrates professional integrity.
