About the position

L3Harris is searching for talented Integration & Test engineers to support subsystem and system level testing. This Integration & Test (I&T) engineer will be responsible for the development of test plans and procedures, test scripts, and various documentation for First Article Qualification Tests and Factory Acceptance Tests. In this role, you will be a key part of the engineering team, conducting integration and test activities. You will also collaborate with other engineering disciplines, program management, quality assurance, and product leads to ensure successful project outcomes. The essential functions of this position include understanding System Requirements Documents, Interface Control Documents, and Software Requirements Specifications. The engineer will need to have knowledge and experience with electronic circuits, automated test software, support equipment, manufacturing processes, and the manufacturing test environment. Responsibilities also include supporting the set-up, configuration, and documentation of hardware and software systems under test, including loading software onto multiple system platforms. Additionally, the engineer will support the design, development, and implementation of cost-effective procedures for testing and troubleshooting components, sub-assemblies, assemblies, and systems. This includes generating test documentation such as test set design review packages (PDR, CDR, MRR), test procedures, work instructions, and test reports. The role requires building, configuring, troubleshooting, and integrating new and existing servers to provide service enhancements, application deployments, and infrastructure upgrades. The engineer will execute MIL-STD-810G and MIL-STF-461G EMI/EMC qualification testing, lead and conduct software integration and tests, and procure required equipment to support system builds while creating supporting documentation including drawing trees, parts lists, and interconnect diagrams. The position also involves designing, building, operating, and maintaining test sets and test equipment, supporting the development, allocation, and verification of requirements at all levels of the program, and debugging, analyzing, and verifying that products meet functional and performance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop test plans and procedures, test scripts, and documentation for First Article Qualification Tests and Factory Acceptance Tests.
  • Conduct integration and test activities as part of the engineering team.

  • Design, build, operate, and maintain test sets and test equipment.
  • Support the development, allocation, and verification of requirements at all levels of the program.
  • Debug, analyze, and verify products meet functional and performance requirements.

Requirements

  • BS/BA (or equivalent) in Electrical, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field, and minimum 2 years Software or systems experience, or Master's degree and 0-2 years software or systems experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior software systems experience.
  • Experience with electronics testing.

Nice-to-haves

  • Electronics testing background - knowledge of test process flow and execution.
  • MIL-STD-810 test experience.
  • First Article Qualification testing experience.
  • Familiarity with electronic test equipment (Oscilloscopes, Spectrum Analyzer).
  • Ability to automate test procedures and data analysis activities.
  • Knowledge of data center infrastructure design: power requirements, rack build-out, and cooling.
  • Experience with various communications/network equipment tests.
  • Engineering principles, especially verification/validation.
  • Self-motivated individual able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Direct experience interfacing with customer personnel and leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability and desire to learn from self-training as well as via transfer of experience and technique.
  • Demonstrated humble leadership in small, diverse team, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication ability: verbal and written using MS Word and PowerPoint.
  • Experience communicating and presenting complex technical issues to various audiences.
  • Strong ability to develop and manipulate MS Excel.
  • Proficient use of LabView and/or MATLAB for analysis and scripting.
