About the position

The Sr. Associate, Manufacturing Engineer at L3Harris will play a crucial role in supporting the network integration of manufacturing equipment at the Jefferson Road Operations Center in Rochester, New York. This position requires a collaborative approach, working effectively within a cross-functional team while also being self-sufficient in translating enhancement requests from internal customers into actionable deliverables. The individual will report directly to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager and will be responsible for maintaining equipment networking systems, developing automation for manufacturing processes, and creating data visualization tools to enhance operational efficiency. In this role, the engineer will qualify analysis needs and work product requirements of internal clients, ensuring that their needs are accurately captured and translated into specific data, logic, and reporting requirements. The engineer will structure their analysis to provide conclusive insights that align with decision-making processes, prioritizing and balancing multiple activities while proactively communicating status updates to manage stakeholder expectations. A strong understanding of data sources and logic is essential to ensure that deliverables are accurate, efficient, and timely. The engineer will also be tasked with building, running, and automating data queries, analysis, and reports using tools such as Visual Basic, SQL, and Tableau. Additionally, the role involves integrating various manufacturing equipment and software with IT network structures, which is critical for the seamless operation of manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Support the network integration of manufacturing equipment for the Jefferson Road Operations Center.
  • Work effectively in a cross-functional team environment and be self-sufficient in distilling enhancement requests into deliverables.
  • Qualify analysis needs and work product requirements of internal clients.
  • Translate client needs into specific data, logic, and reporting requirements and work plans.
  • Structure analysis to provide conclusive insights that align with decision-making.
  • Prioritize and balance multiple activities while proactively communicating status to manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Understand data sources and logic to ensure accurate, efficient, and timely deliverables.
  • Build, run, and automate data queries, analysis, and reports using Visual Basic, SQL, and Tableau.
  • Integrate various manufacturing equipment and software with IT network structures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience, or a Graduate Degree with 0 to 2 years of experience, or in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
  • Experience with data analysis, data mining, and reporting using .net software and SQL database tools.
  • Understanding of manufacturing systems, production processes, technical standards, and assembly equipment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • A successful track record in planning, executing, and tracking personal task assignments.

Nice-to-haves

  • Highly motivated self-starter able to operate with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
  • Lean Six Sigma training, preferably Yellow or Green Belt certification.
