About the position

Baker Tilly is seeking a Senior Tax Associate to join its growing Private Wealth practice, which focuses on providing comprehensive tax and advisory services to high-net-worth individuals, families, and their businesses. The role involves assisting clients in managing, preserving, and transitioning their wealth, with a particular emphasis on international assets and tax implications. The firm is committed to supporting the professional growth of its employees through resources and mentorship.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in providing compliance and consulting services to high-net-worth individuals, multi-generational affluent families, family offices, and their private businesses and/or investment entities.
  • Prepare and review complex individual, trust, estate, gift, and state tax returns and international disclosures.
  • Analyze international holdings for disclosure purposes and assist clients with planning around foreign assets and minimizing global taxation.
  • Work on multiple engagements that deliver proactive tax planning and strategic consulting including federal estate, gift, charitable planning, and generation skipping tax.
  • Build on technical competence by keeping up-to-date on trends, developments, and technical authorities and apply them to complex situations.
  • Learn and grow from direct and on-the-job coaching and mentoring along with participating in firm-wide learning and development programs.
  • Utilize entrepreneurial skills to network and build strong relationships internally and externally with clients.
  • Support the growth and development of team members through the Baker Tilly Care and Teach philosophy, helping associates meet their professional goals.

Requirements

  • An undergraduate degree in Accounting or related field required.
  • Actively pursuing a CPA, MST or JD/LLM preferred.
  • Two (2) + years of experience in tax return preparation and planning for wealthy individuals, family members, and their trusts, investment entities, and private businesses.
  • Two (2) + years of experience in international asset disclosure preparation for individuals with foreign accounts, businesses, trusts, and other foreign investments.
  • An interest in assisting affluent families and individuals enhance and preserve their wealth.
  • Eligibility to work in the U.S., without sponsorship, highly preferred.
