About the position

TSS is seeking a highly skilled and proactive Sr. Automation Engineer to join our growing team. This role plays a critical part in designing, implementing, and optimizing automated workflows, system integrations, and scripting solutions that drive efficiency and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in system administration, networking, virtualization, and automation tools, enabling TSS to deliver seamless and scalable solutions for our customers. The Sr. Automation Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and automation. They will develop and maintain robust automation scripts, ensure the seamless integration of systems, and support deployments across multiple environments. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with customers and internal teams to gather and analyze project requirements.
  • Design scalable, flexible, and efficient automation solutions tailored to specific business needs.
  • Develop and oversee the implementation of system integrations, ensuring robust and seamless data flow between platforms.
  • Identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and redundancies in workflows and design optimized solutions.
  • Create customized automation workflows to reduce manual effort and improve operational efficiency.
  • Perform rigorous testing and validation of automation processes to ensure they function as intended.
  • Develop, debug, and maintain Bash, Batch, and PowerShell scripts to address customer/project-specific automation needs.
  • Integrate automation scripts with third-party tools, APIs, and cloud platforms to facilitate data synchronization and process automation.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve automation issues post-deployment, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Manage the deployment of custom configurations across large user bases or multiple environments, ensuring consistency and minimizing errors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, subnetting, routing, switching, VLANs, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Familiarity with network troubleshooting tools such as Ping, Traceroute, Wireshark, and NetFlow.
  • Experience diagnosing and resolving network issues such as slow connectivity, hardware failures, and configuration errors.

Nice-to-haves

  • Preferred certifications: CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), VMware Certified Professional (VCP), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), or similar.
