About the position

The Sr. Automation Systems Engineer at Northrop Grumman will be responsible for collaborating on the design, deployment, and maintenance of distributed architecture systems. This role involves developing and implementing enterprise solutions that align with best practices to support mission-critical objectives, while also staying informed about market and technology trends to provide innovative solutions to customers.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate on the design, deployment, and maintenance of distributed architecture systems.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of enterprise solutions that support mission-critical objectives.
  • Maintain awareness of market and technology trends to bring new solutions to customers.
  • Participate in onboarding activities to familiarize with company training requirements and system architecture.
  • Integrate into daily activities with a team lead to ensure process and system architecture assimilation.
  • Lead day-to-day activities in the operations department and test feature enhancements to the enterprise architecture.

Requirements

  • Nine (9) years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree in STEM; Seven (7) years with a master's; Four (4) years with a PhD. Four (4) years of additional relevant experience can substitute for a degree.
  • U.S. citizenship with an active DoD Top Secret/SCI security clearance that was active in the last 24 months.
  • Possess DoD 8570 Certification for IAT Level II or higher prior to start date.

Nice-to-haves

  • Working knowledge in three or more areas such as Data Storage Technologies, Virtual Infrastructure, Network Engineering, Windows Systems Engineering, Linux Engineering, and Scripting/Automation.
  • Technical expertise with NetApp for data storage solutions.
  • Ability to design and manage VMware environments.
  • Experience with Cisco and/or VMware NSX devices and technologies.
  • Experience in designing Windows enterprise architecture including Active Directory and MS Exchange.
  • Experience with multiple Linux distributions, particularly Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, Bash, or YAML.
