About the position

The Sr AWS DevOps Engineer role is a hybrid position based in Irvine or Los Angeles, requiring three days of in-office work. This long-term contract position focuses on leveraging AWS and Azure cloud services to design and implement solutions, with a strong emphasis on data engineering and DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement solutions using AWS and Azure cloud services.
• Develop and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes using SQL.
• Utilize Apache Spark for data processing and analysis.
• Manage infrastructure using Terraform or other Infrastructure-as-Code tools.
• Collaborate with clients and team members to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
• Engage in CI/CD practices using Git and related tools.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in DevOps and cloud engineering.
• Proficient in AWS services such as IAM, EKS, S3, and Hive/Glue Catalog.
• Knowledge of Azure services including ADLS, AKS, and Synapse.
• Intermediate proficiency in Python programming.
• Experience with data warehousing, fact/dimension modeling, and ETL processes.
• Familiarity with batch orchestration tools like Apache Airflow.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with additional cloud services or tools.
• Knowledge of other programming languages.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
