About the position

The Sr. Benefits and Payroll Specialist at Innova Solutions is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll and the administration of employee benefit programs. This role ensures compliance with relevant laws and regulations while managing health insurance, retirement plans, and wellness programs. The specialist will also oversee leave management and develop payroll processes to maintain quality and efficiency in payroll functions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and administer employee benefit programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and voluntary benefits while ensuring compliance with data protection and documentation procedures.
  • Ensure timely processing of enrollment changes, including termination of benefits, invoice processing, and premium reconciliations.
  • Maintain benefits spreadsheet and ensure benefit enrollments and changes are accurately reflected in payroll processing.
  • Oversee administrative aspects of leave management, including updating leave tracking systems and generating reports on leave usage.
  • Develop and maintain payroll processes, procedures, and documentation, ensuring regulatory compliance and quality control.
  • Responsible for full-cycle payroll processing, including timecard review, multi-state payroll processing, and maintaining payroll reports.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of payroll practices, tax laws, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in payroll software and MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Expert understanding of UKG timekeeping system; ability to troubleshoot and educate others.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field.
  • 5 years' experience processing payroll for 500+ manufacturing employees.
  • 5 years' experience in benefit administration.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. benefits-related laws and regulatory requirements, such as COBRA, ADA, FMLA, HIPAA, PPACA.
  • Experience working with ADP Workforce Now and UKG Pro.

Nice-to-haves

  • Manufacturing experience is a plus.
