About the position

We are seeking a skilled Senior Business Intelligence (BI) Developer with extensive experience in the Microsoft SQL Server stack, Data Vault 2.0 architecture, and visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining BI solutions to support data-driven decision-making. As a Senior BI Developer, you will play a crucial role in the development of BI solutions that empower our organization to make informed decisions based on data insights. In this position, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining BI solutions using the Microsoft SQL Server stack, which includes SQL Server, SSIS, stored procedures, views, functions, and SQL agent jobs. You will also maintain and expand a data warehouse utilizing Data Vault 2.0 architecture, ensuring that our data integration and transformation processes are efficient and effective. Your expertise in ETL processes will be essential in optimizing data flows and ensuring that our data is readily available for analysis. Additionally, you will create and maintain data models for BI reporting and analytics, perform data analysis to identify trends and insights, and ensure data quality and integrity through rigorous testing and validation. Your role will also involve developing interactive dashboards and reports using Tableau, collaborating with stakeholders to understand their reporting needs, and translating those needs into effective BI solutions. You will provide training and support to end-users on BI tools and reports, ensuring that they can leverage the insights generated from our BI solutions. Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work with cross-functional teams, business analysts, and stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver BI solutions that meet their needs. You will communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders, assisting data analysts in using data warehouse objects and optimizing queries. Continuous improvement is a core value of our organization, and you will be expected to stay updated with BI trends, technologies, and best practices, identifying and implementing process improvements for our BI solutions. As a senior member of the team, you will also have the opportunity to mentor data analysts on best practices and technical skills, fostering a culture of learning and development within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain BI solutions using Microsoft SQL Server stack (SQL Server, SSIS, stored procedures, views, functions, and SQL agent jobs).
  • Maintain and expand a data warehouse with Data Vault 2.0 architecture.
  • Develop and optimize ETL processes for efficient data integration and transformation.
  • Create and maintain data models for BI reporting and analytics.
  • Perform data analysis to identify trends and insights.
  • Ensure data quality and integrity through testing and validation.
  • Develop interactive dashboards and reports using Tableau.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and translate reporting needs into effective BI solutions.
  • Provide training and support to end-users on BI tools and reports.
  • Work with cross-functional teams, business analysts, and stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver BI solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in BI development with the Microsoft SQL Server stack.
  • Proven experience with Data Vault 2.0 architecture.
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python or R.
  • Proficiency in SQL and ETL tools like SSIS.
  • Expertise in data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality results.
  • Must pass an MVR, background, and drug test.
