About the position
The Sr. BI Developer is responsible for building relationships with business units and serving as the primary Business Intelligence (BI) contact. This role involves transforming business requirements into effective BI solutions, including Power BI reports, dashboards, and database modeling. The developer will work closely with business users to identify requirements, support testing and validation, and provide training. The position requires solid experience with the Microsoft Business Intelligence toolset and a strong understanding of BI concepts, ensuring data quality and availability for analytics and reporting.
Responsibilities
- Work directly with user groups to determine reporting needs and translate those needs into deliverables.
- Develop Power BI reports and dashboards based on business requirements.
- Perform unit testing and validation for all deliverables before handover to business users.
- Optimize reports, cube processing, stored procedures, and SQL queries for performance.
- Verify and reconcile data for accuracy and consistency.
Requirements
- Minimum 7 years of experience developing complex SQL queries on MS SQL Server.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in creating complex Reports and Dashboards using Power BI.
- Excellent knowledge of connecting Power BI Desktop to various data sources.
- Strong skills in writing complex DAX queries.
- Good understanding of Data Warehousing and Data Modelling Techniques.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
