About the position

Our client, a growing brand in the beauty space, is looking for a Sr. Brand Copywriter. This is a full-time opportunity that is hybrid onsite in the LA area (Tues-Thurs). The Sr. Brand Copywriter will drive the narrative and storytelling strategy for the brand and products. They will help define the brand's voice and tone, and oversee and inform its consistent execution. The Sr. Copywriter will continually articulate and codify messaging direction across the organization and collaborate closely with all marketing and communications stakeholders to ensure brand and product messaging consistency as well as holistic storytelling. This role will own brand tone of voice, directly executing as well as steering its implementation across all consumer touchpoints. They will partner with broader brand management and communications teams as well as external agencies and freelance resources to help focus brand narratives and shape their execution. They will actively participate in the development of integrated brand- and product-level storytelling strategies, campaigns, and communications plans, driving focused core messaging and narrative direction as well as final copy execution. To enable robust, authoritative brand and product-level storytelling, the Sr. Copywriter will lead the ongoing development and standardization of category and other contextual knowledge bases. They will conduct their own research as well as partner with internal and external functional experts (Brand, Product, R&D/Engineering) to create an organized knowledge base that can be continually refreshed and effectively leveraged for creative communications across the organization. The Sr. Copywriter will also develop product narratives and copy guidelines, driving all product, technology, and feature naming/branding and product copy development across digital and retail merchandising, as well as packaging and out-of-box collateral. Additionally, they will ensure consistent product messaging across all communications touchpoints - including owned channels, earned and paid media - by advising and collaborating with internal and external communications and creative partners. Possessing strong written skills, as well as a keen understanding of product features and benefits, this role will work closely with Brand and Product Managers, and liaise across Creative, Communications, Operations, and Customer marketing teams to deliver engaging and technically accurate copy across all core product assets. A successful candidate will have the ability to view technical and functional elements through the lens of consumer benefit, employing metaphors, similes, and creative language to bring products to life by driving a clear connection between product attributes and consumer need. The role will synthesize both competitive insights as well as functional and attitudinal consumer insights to ensure product marketing copy is clear, distinct, and compelling. The Sr. Copywriter will also develop simple, clear technical copy to support post-purchase and training materials. This role will also be responsible for developing and maintaining a branded copy guide to support cross-category technology and feature language, creating clear vernacular and tonal guidelines to ensure portfolio cohesion and category/price tier distinction.
