About the position

The Sr. Brand Financial Analyst position at Perfetti Van Melle serves as the primary contact for Financial Reporting, Planning, Analysis, and Training on financial processes for all Marketing areas, including Innovation, Brand Performance, and Advertising spend. This role is crucial in providing analysis of both the top and bottom-line health of the business, which aids in making strategic business decisions. The analyst will be responsible for analyzing products to be sold, assessing new product ideas, managing savings projects, and overseeing the existing product portfolio. In this role, the Sr. Brand Financial Analyst will work closely with cross-functional partners in Marketing, Sales, and Supply Chain, always seeking opportunities to improve financial planning processes and reporting. Specific responsibilities include reporting brand financial results on a monthly basis, leading sales planning to achieve both short- and long-term goals, and conducting ongoing analysis of the product portfolio to drive profitable growth. This includes in-depth pricing analysis to prepare for future pricing changes and ongoing development of Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) along with ad-hoc analysis to assist management in strategic business decisions. The analyst will also lead new item analysis, which includes SKU Profit and Loss statements, cost analysis, and assessing portfolio/customer fit. Additionally, they will be involved in long-term planning for future trends and investments spanning 3-5 years, as well as managing advertising spend reporting and analysis to control annual expenditures.

Responsibilities

  • Reporting Brand financial results on a monthly basis and leading sales planning to deliver short- and long-term goals.
  • Ongoing analysis of product portfolio to drive profitable growth, including in-marketing pricing analysis to prepare for future pricing changes.
  • Ongoing S&OP development and ad-hoc analysis to help management with strategic business decisions.
  • Lead new item analysis including SKU P&Ls, cost analysis, and portfolio/customer fit.
  • Ongoing long-term planning for 3-5 year future trends and investments.
  • Advertising spend reporting and analysis to manage annual spend.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Finance experience; Manufacturing and/or CPG experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrated expertise in predictive modeling of sales and profit performance to provide management and brand team insights.
  • Experience developing and managing COGS and P&Ls including margin analysis to validate accuracy across brands and products.
  • Experience with Trade and Advertising spend analysis to indicate drivers of spending changes and management to budgets.
  • Experience with volume and sales forecasting, forecast management, and presentation of analysis.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills with strong process orientation and focus on continuous improvement and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills - written, verbal, and presentation - with the ability to discuss business issues and action plans in a simple, easy to understand manner.
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment, building and maintaining cross-functional relationships.
