About the position

DFA Dairy Brands is seeking a passionate, energetic, and innovative individual to join their team as a Sr. Brand Manager based in St. Louis Park, MN. This role is pivotal in leading the strategy and execution of all marketing initiatives for the value-added milk business. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the successful execution of new products and initiatives, delivering results, serving as a brand ambassador, and fostering collaborative relationships while maintaining a fun work environment. The Sr. Brand Manager will be tasked with developing and executing strategies to grow DFA's market share in the value-added milk and milk-based beverage category. This includes leading all consumer communication strategies and execution for the value-added milk brands, which encompasses brand positioning, advertising, packaging, consumer promotions, public relations, digital marketing, social media, and shopper marketing. The role also involves managing day-to-day operations with outside agency partners and working closely with the Branded ESL Commercial Director to achieve key business objectives. Additionally, the Sr. Brand Manager will lead a cross-functional team to effectively manage business operations and project execution, conduct annual business reviews, and develop the annual operating plan (AOP) marketing plan. The position requires maximizing the portfolio and initiatives to achieve both short-term and long-term sales, market share, and profit objectives. Utilizing syndicated data and consumer insights will be crucial in refining business strategies and communication efforts. The candidate will also partner with the National Accounts Sales team to identify growth opportunities across various channels, including traditional grocery, mass retail, club stores, convenience stores, and food service.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategies to grow DFA share in value-added milk and milk-based beverage category.
  • Lead all consumer communication strategy and execution for value-added milk brands, including brand positioning, advertising, packaging, consumer promotions, PR, digital, web, social media, and shopper marketing.
  • Manage day-to-day operations with outside agency partners (Advertising, Packaging, PR, Shopper, Digital).
  • Collaborate closely with the Branded ESL Commercial Director to achieve key business objectives.
  • Lead a cross-functional team to effectively manage business operations and project execution.
  • Conduct the annual business review and develop the AOP marketing plan.
  • Maximize the portfolio and initiatives to achieve short-term and long-term sales, shares, and profit objectives.
  • Utilize syndicated data and consumer insights to refine business, portfolio, and communication strategy.
  • Partner with National Accounts Sales team to identify growth opportunities with key channels including Traditional Grocery, Mass, Club, C-store, and Food Service.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required; MBA with marketing concentration is strongly preferred.
  • A minimum of 6-8 years of related CPG Marketing Management experience.
  • Experience in new product launch/commercialization, with a strong understanding of the US retailer landscape.
  • Possess CPG leadership skillsets, including business analytics, strategic planning, consumer insights, advertising, and consumer promotion.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work with and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to excel in an environment that requires leaders to embrace responsibilities from strategic planning to day-to-day execution details.
  • Strength in analyzing business and brand via primary and secondary research, including syndicated data (IRI/Nielsen), Consumer & Shopper Insights, and business financials such as Profit & Loss and ROI.
  • Ability to develop and deliver compelling presentations to build support internally and with business partners/accounts.
