About the position

The Senior Budget and Finance Analyst position at UC Irvine's Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior is a critical role that involves comprehensive financial management and analysis. The incumbent will work under the general direction of the Director of Business Services and will be responsible for overseeing the budget and financial operations for various units within the department, including clinical operations, research, administrative units, and the Medical Education Office. The analyst will manage account activities, oversee financial transactions, reconcile accounts, perform journal entries and fund transfers, and ensure that adequate records are maintained for audit purposes. The successful candidate will demonstrate good judgment in selecting appropriate methods and techniques for problem-solving and will be expected to work on diverse problems that require careful analysis of identifiable factors. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement budget planning and financial management for the department.

Requirements

  • Thorough knowledge of finance policies, practices, and systems.
  • Ability to independently gather required information and perform financial analysis assignments.
  • Proven ability to present information clearly and concisely in both verbal and written formats.
  • Proven experience using spreadsheet and database software for complex financial analysis and fiscal management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and service orientation with attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task in a high volume environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
