About the position

The Senior Business Analyst in the Distribution Data Office at Invesco plays a crucial role in understanding and enhancing the data capabilities within the organization. This position focuses on collaborating with various business units to gather and document business and data requirements, translating them into technical specifications for solution development. The analyst will work closely with internal partners to ensure that data is leveraged as a strategic asset, supporting both operational needs and larger transformations within the company.

Responsibilities

  • Review assigned business processes from end-to-end to identify and address operational, financial, and technological risks.
  • Analyze and understand the end-to-end Distribution processes and the associated data.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency across multiple business processes.
  • Lead small to mid-size projects and assist product owners on larger, more complex projects.
  • Document functional and non-functional requirements by working with business stakeholders.
  • Conduct interviews and gather customer requirements through various methods such as workshops and surveys.
  • Translate conceptual customer requirements into clear functional requirements for the development team.
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and ensure clear communication with EDAO partners and stakeholders.
  • Provide updates to senior management and project stakeholders on project progress and tasks.
  • Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for new regulatory filings or added data sources.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Business Administration, or Information Technology.
  • Minimum 5-6 years of industry experience.
  • Strong scripting skills in SQL and Python for data transformation tasks.
  • Solid knowledge of Data Life cycle, data governance, and Master data management concepts.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting and manage multiple requests from varied stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Minimum 4-7 years of experience in the Investment Management or Financial Services industry.
